Saved data

A place may contain a name, address, geographic coordinates, note, category, photo, source URL, creation date and alert status. This data is created when you add, edit, import or share a place.

Storage and iCloud

Places are stored in the application. When iCloud is available, MemoSpot uses a private CloudKit container linked to your iCloud account to synchronise places between your devices. This may include coordinates, notes, categories, photos and URLs associated with places. MemoSpot does not operate a Tisodas server that centralises your places.

Location

MemoSpot uses location to display your position, manage nearby places and trigger reminders when you pass near an active place. MemoSpot does not retain a history of your movements in its data model. Location information may nevertheless appear in technical logs stored locally on the device.

Photos and text recognition

MemoSpot can use a photo selected from your photo library or taken with the camera. Text recognition is performed locally using iOS technologies. Only images you select or capture are used. A photo linked to a place may be synchronised through your private iCloud storage.

Search and maps

Place search, address suggestions, geocoding and opening a place in Maps use Apple MapKit and Core Location services. Necessary requests may be sent to Apple. MemoSpot does not retain a search history in its data model.

Notifications

MemoSpot uses local notifications to remind you that an active place is nearby. MemoSpot does not use remote push notifications or advertising notifications.

Sharing and import

You can export or import .memospotplace files. The MemoSpot Share Extension can temporarily receive an image, URL or text from another app to prepare a draft. This data becomes a saved place only if you complete the addition in MemoSpot.

In-app purchases

MemoSpot offers a non-consumable in-app purchase, MemoSpot Unlimited. Purchases and restorations are managed through StoreKit and the App Store. MemoSpot does not store your payment details.

Diagnostics

MemoSpot may create technical logs locally to diagnose proximity alerts. They are not sent automatically to Tisodas Studio. Information you choose to send to support is used only to handle your request.

Advertising and tracking

MemoSpot contains no advertising, does not perform advertising tracking and does not include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the current version.

Your choices

You can change location, notification, camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings. You can delete places in MemoSpot. Deletion may be propagated through iCloud when synchronisation is active.
